Dark Matters

Re-imagining the binary narrative of darkness.

 Scientifically:

In Western society, light is seen as goodness, growth, and progress. Whereas darkness is seen as evil, stagnation, and lack of knowledge or enlightenment. The historical notion of light and darkness is that they are opposites. This binary narrative still pervades our contemporary perception of darkness.

These binary narratives (oppositions) almost alway builds in dominance or privilege. Therefore Claire argues we should re-imagine this binary narrative.

Creative:

The installation called Dark Matters shares an abstraction of the transdisciplinary research darkness. Creating a work which is based on perspective, transdiscipline and equality of knowledge.
