The Green Jacket

The rain jacket that plants trees.

 Scientifically:

Trees have many benefits in urban areas, however a calculation has shown that Rotterdam is in need of trees.

Creative:

We digitalized leaves we found in Rotterdam and embroidered them onto one sleeve of a rain jacket. Therewith, we can tell the following story to the public, which can also to be read on the label:

Rotterdam has 610.000 trees. This is great and we love them for being there. However there should be way more! The average number of trees per hectare in the Netherlands is 5000 trees, which means that Rotterdam should have 1.078.200 trees! In this jacket, we have several secret pockets, made of solvable fabric. In these pockets we stored tree seeds. When you’re wearing this coat in the rain, the seeds will fall onto the ground and can become a beautiful tree.
